Privacy Policy
In short
- We collect only what we need to sell, deliver and protect your license, and to support you.
- Your SketchUp models and reports never reach us. They stay on your computer.
- We never sell personal data, and we do not use advertising trackers.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at support@southfacing.in.
1. Who we are
South Facing Solutions, a sole proprietorship owned by Akhilkumar Rajendrakumar Pandya ("we", "us") decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for it (the "Data Fiduciary" under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
This policy covers our website https://southfacing.in, our online store, the TrueSouth software and its license service, and our support.

2. What we collect and why

What stays on your computer
TrueSouth processes your SketchUp models on your own computer. We do not receive the following:
- your models;
- your reports or settings;
- your project locations.
To fetch weather data, the software sends each project's latitude and longitude straight from your computer to PVGIS (European Commission, Joint Research Centre) or NASA POWER (USA). Those services also see your IP address and handle it under their own privacy policies. If a project location is confidential, you can use your own weather file instead (the CSV option).
3. Legal basis
We process personal data with the consent you give when you buy or activate. Where the law allows processing without consent, we also rely on that, for example to comply with tax and accounting laws or to respond to legal requirements.
You may withdraw consent at any time (see section 7). Withdrawal does not affect processing already done. Because license checks need this data, withdrawing consent may mean the software can no longer be activated.
We do not send marketing emails unless you separately opt in, and every marketing email lets you unsubscribe.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the following, and only as far as needed:
- Razorpay Software Private Limited, to process payments and refunds.
- Hostinger, which hosts our website, store and database.
- Hostinger (support@southfacing.in) and Google (Gmail, for general enquiries), which sends and stores our email.
- Our chartered accountant and other professional advisers, under a duty of confidentiality.
- Government authorities, courts or regulators, when the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or reorganised, under this policy.
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
Some providers may store data outside India. Where they do, transfers follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and any restrictions the Government notifies.
5. How long we keep it
- Orders, invoices and payment records: as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require (generally up to 8 years).
- License and activation records: while the license exists and for 3 years after it ends, to handle questions and disputes.
- License-server request logs: up to 180 days.
- Website logs: as set by our hosting provider, and in any case no longer than 12 months.
- Support emails: up to 3 years after the conversation ends.
After these periods we delete the data or make it anonymous. Where the law requires, we will tell you at least 48 hours before erasing data kept on the basis of your consent.
6. How we protect it
Our safeguards include:
- HTTPS encryption on every page and the license service;
- license keys stored hashed and encrypted;
- computer identifiers stored only as one-way hashes;
- strong, hashed admin passwords;
- access restricted to people who need it;
- regular backups.
If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can:
- get information about the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- have it corrected, completed or updated;
- have it erased, except where we must keep it by law (for example invoices);
- withdraw your consent;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to do so;
- have your grievances addressed.
To use these rights, email support@southfacing.in from the address you used with us, or tell us how we can verify your identity. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Children
Our products are professional tools and are not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
9. Cookies
Our store pages do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The payment window from Razorpay may set cookies it needs for security and fraud prevention. Our admin area uses a session cookie for our own staff only. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this website.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with its effective date. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will also email licensees.
